Why we built QR Vault
QR codes are everywhere now. On restaurant tables, product packaging, event tickets, business cards and storefronts. They are one of the most practical ways to share information between a screen and the physical world. But most QR code tools online are slow, full of ads, require you to create an account, or quietly store every URL and piece of data you enter into their systems.
QR Vault was built to be the opposite of that. Open the tool, generate or scan your code, done. Nothing stored, nothing uploaded, no signup required. It fits the same principle that guides every tool on Pocklit: solve the problem quickly, respect the person using it, and stay free.
What QR Vault can do
The QR Code Generator supports four content types. You can generate a URL code to link to any website, a plain text code for any short message, a WiFi code that lets guests connect to your network by scanning rather than typing a password, and a contact card code that saves your details directly to someone's phone address book when scanned.
The QR Code Scanner decodes any QR code from an uploaded image or directly from your device camera in real time. The Barcode Generator supports seven standard formats including Code 128 for general purpose use, EAN-13 and UPC-A for retail products, and Code 39 and ITF-14 for industrial and shipping applications. The Barcode Scanner reads both QR codes and standard barcodes from images or camera.
How your data is handled
Every operation in QR Vault runs entirely in your browser. When you type a URL, enter a WiFi password or upload an image to scan, all processing happens on your device using JavaScript. Nothing is transmitted to any server. There is no backend that receives your inputs and no database that stores them.
This matters particularly for sensitive use cases. If you are generating a WiFi QR code, you are entering your network password. If you are generating a contact card, you are entering personal details. With QR Vault, those inputs never leave your device. They are processed locally and discarded when you close the tab.
